First, I selected one of my favorite images, as well as a long standing favorite among many of my customers: Antelope Light Dance. This photograph was created in Upper Antelope Canyon, Arizona, three years ago. Here are all the specifics as far as the equipment I used: Camera, lens and film: Linhoff Master Technica 4x5, Gitzo Mountaineer carbon fiber tripod and Gitzo magnesium ball head, 75mm Schneider Super Angulon, Fuji Provia The exposure was a couple of seconds. Antelope Canyon is quite dark, and very much like a cave in a sense, hence relatively long exposures are necessary if you want to maximize depth of field. The day I created this image was windy and the wind was blowing sand down into the canyon. The sand was falling down from the top, perhaps 150 feet above my head, forming "sand waterfalls" so to speak. I was fortunate to find a place in the main "room" of the canyon where the sand was falling into a shaft of sunlight forming both an unlikely and a magical combination of light and sand. I exposed for a couple of seconds only so that the sand wouldn't get completely blurred. The original transparency was scanned on the Imacon Flextight 3 in 16 bit at maximum resolution. The original file was color corrected in Photoshop and resaved to CD at maximum size. I reduced the size as needed for the different print sizes I need and saved it as an 8 bit file for printing. The print was created on the Epson 9600 on Parrot Luster paper at 1440 dpi (I cannot see any difference with 2880 dpi with the naked eye) using photo-black ink. This photograph comes double matted with a mat cut on my Eclipse Computerized mat cutter. To place your order just click on the link below and follow the instructions
